Our young people really enjoyed two of our recent trips to Waterworld, Stoke and Aqua Park, Rutland. They had such a great time that several of the young people now go swimming more regularly in Loughborough. For Anna (not her real name) swimming has really helped her cope with her mental wellbeing. At a CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) meeting earlier this year she said wanted to do more swimming. Anna’s support worker now regularly takes her and the other girls swimming, and commented “We were laughing and splashing together. They all wanted to learn to swim. We played with the floats and had fun and I think all of them would like to learn to swim and feel more confident in the pool. They definitely all want to keep going”.
